In the fall of 2010, the founder of Disciples Made was a discipleship pastor in a 5,000 member church. Brian Phipps admitted that he didn’t know how to reverse the trends. He had multiple degrees from seminary, 15 years of “successful” ministry, and a ton of cutting edge conference training under his belt. With all of that he still couldn’t see a truly different way.

Jesus led Brian to begin a disciple-making experience with twelve men that was modeled after the methods Jesus modeled in the gospels, not modern educational processes—and it changed everything. Within five years, without any public promotion, that church mobilized 750 disciples through 35 disciple-makers. Volunteers overflowed, and people found creative ways to use their gifts to extend Jesus’ Great Commission inside and outside the church walls.

Today, that impact has grown to over 8,000 disciples through 500 disciple-makers in dozens of churches. How did it happen? It is remarkably simple… he defined a disciple based on the Spirit’s measurable transformation of individuals, and focused the discipleship experience on accomplishing those outcomes.

Disciples Made is the ministry that was birthed out of this movement, and we are inviting you to consider planting these seeds of renewal into your church.
